Re: Tipsy Problems
Hi Charles, May I offer some of my own experience? I have the Leburg dual electronic ignition system, there are two versions available, one has motorcycle alternator at its heart. The ignition controllers and alternator are fitted to the back of the engine. It utilises two independant battery channe...

Re: NIPPER GATHERING
Hi Guys,
There is an airshow at Northampton Sywell on the 24th Aug'.
http://www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk/events.php
I have dropped an email to the organisers to see if we could make it a fly-in venue on the 24th (I am unfortunately working on the 23rd)
Any takers?
Neil

Re: VW Jabiru Aervee engine weights
Hi David, I am running Leburg on my engine, you may have to reduce the height of the spacers, as it is very close fit on the back of the engine/firewall. Refer the mod' to G-ONCS. If you have any trouble I can send you a copy of my paperwork. I doubt the Aerovee engine ancillaries will fit. I would ...

NIPPER GATHERING
Hi All, Seeing as there seem to be a good stock of Nippers now, how about a gathering somewhere? Either combined with another LAA fly-in, or just a Nipper gathering? Somewhere about an hour thirty from the edge of Nipper home field, maybe Northampton Sywell or somesuch? All bids welcome, date and ve...

Looks lovely, wouldn't it be great to get a "squadron" of Nippers together?

Re: VW Jabiru Aervee engine weights
Hi,
Take a look at the Great Plains website, they give weights for the 1834 and 2180cc engine.

Hi Pat, Well done, it looks great!! Will try to get down to see you in mine. I am still on a PFRC, and am waiting for the Permit. The Aux' fuel tank is great, fuel transfer of 15L takes aprox' 15 mins. So I can now fly for a couple of hours without having to think about refueling. Since having the E...

Re: Aerovee Carb (Aerocarb)
Hi Richard,
I have no experience of the aerovee carb, but have an ellison on my nipper which works great any way up! The aerovee works pretty much on the same principle as the ellison.

Re: Inverted flight
Hi Richard, That is rather bizarre! I am based just north of Colchester near Ardleigh! It would be much easier for you to see the inverted systems and talk them through here so you can see what I am talking about. I am very seldom in Glasgow, but as the base there appears to be closing there may be ...

Re: Inverted flight
Hi Richard, The Acro system, which I believe is a Lucas System for which Barry Smith designed/developed/manufactured a pump and fuel pressure regulator is quite complex and not easily copied........it all depends on your tenacity and engineering skills. It is a very nice system which is very light, ...

Hi Richard, I have a fully inverted Nipper, which will fly inverted for as long as I can! .....all systems are invertable, I am running an Ellison Throttle Body Injector (TBI) which is no longer available, have a look at the post: http://www.tipsynipper.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=129 which w...

Re: Inlet manifold and Decompressor
Hi Pat, Good luck with the Vne test, hope all goes well. Re' the brakes, the only thing that makes me sweat is dealing with the LAA and the aircraft down time while the paperwork is sorted!! I have got some Magura hydraulic brakes from a bike, and have made the brackets, but not yet tried or tested ...

Re: Inlet manifold and Decompressor
Hi Pat,
Just a thought........have you calibrated your ASI? It would be a shame to dive to Vne+x% !! I had no problems with mine, but it's a scary part of the envelope.
