Re: Aileron play
Hi Rob, In addition and just in case you are wondering... "if excessive looseness is found in the hinge pins of ailerons, elevator or rudder, these pivot pins (ref. SP/4Z/B14-0 3/16" ) must be replaced by pivot pins of the same specification but of a larger diameter, which should not excee...

Re: Aileron play
Hello Rob, I don’t like to be outspoken on the web but if you can feel this much ‘play’ in the control circuit then in my view this is seriously wrong and should be remedied straight away. I have experienced aileron flutter in a Nipper (caused by slack aileron cables) and it is not an experience to ...

Re: Looking to buy - but a few questions first
Is there any significant difference between Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 variants? Yes - The engine mounting on the MK II Nipper will not accept the VW engine directly mounted. On the MK II Nippers there is a transition casting between the airframe and engine on which the earlier, lighter engines were mounted....

Re: Help---again--- canopy lock
Hi Tom,
I have mustered all the bits I have and whilst I don't have the drawing for the early type latch I'm pretty sure it assembles like this (photo)

Re: Help ! tailplane attachment
Jantar, Should have included this with earlier shots above - shows fairings slotted in to 'joggled' alloy plate (F1093). Top and bottom fairings are secured at front with single self tapping screw each side into metal hoop. As a gliding person you will probably see that adding wing tape to front edg...

Re: Help ! tailplane attachment
Jantar, Hope the pictures above help; The assembly drawing is correct but if yours will not assemble as shown maybe you should measure your struts for comparison with others. The rubber is about 4mm thick (I use tap washers for the round ones-they don't need cutting out). Have you any witness marks ...

Re: VW 1834 Cylinder Head Wanted
Ref your search for VW 1834cc cylinder heads.
I have two ex-Nipper VW 1834cc single port heads which I would like to exchange for VW 1600cc single port heads for a Rollason Ardem engine which I am rebuilding.

Re: Rudder pedal to nose wheel cable Nipper 36
Jim,
My Nipper has the standard pedals so I can give you the dimensions and a sketch. You have my contact details so give me a call. I found it quite simple to have mine returned to standard. I used Airweld (near Winchester) for the welding.

Gary,
Confirm R/H thread. Rollason used 0.002" interference fit on their engines. The prop hub was heated in an oven before being offered up.
