Jeff,

Have you tried Airweld at Winchester who have the cowling moulds and may also have the assembly set of drawings ?

Re: wing clamping plates - dimensions

Hi Jim, I acquired these clamps amongst a lot of spares from Raymond Cuypers some years ago but never felt inclined to use them having never seen anything other than the standard 19mm type used on a Nipper. I do not recognise the part number 990003 and the word 'specials' after JALB is unusual for a...

Re: Tip tank

As stated by RobW a non-return valve was fitted adjacent to each tank (type as shown) and a standard Auster 4 way fuel cock was mounted centrally in front of the pilot mounted on the spar.

Re: Instrument panel mounting

Peter,
The photos show the original brackets for the small panel. They are attached to the sorbo rubber spacer and spar with fabric cement (not screws).
I still have a mould for the instrument shroud if you need one.

Re: Aileron cable size

Correction: Following discussion with Bruntons I ordered my cables to BSW12 (Galv. Aircraft Cable) adding the cable diameter of 0.12ins. measured from the ‘original’ Fairey cables fitted on ‘RBG. Drawings of these cables do exist with NK&C Ltd but I decided to have them manufactured to pattern a...

Re: Wing attachment bolts !!!!!!!!

Rip, for information only - New wing to fuselage retaining bolts have not been available for many years and to overcome this problem were superceded by studs threaded each end to Slingsby drawing D.T66 W2073 dated 30/8/68. These would have been manufactured with rolled threads using slotted and plai...
