The thrust line is h...

Re: Exhaust system

I have now had a set of p...

Exhaust system
Wanted: Technical details, photos or patterns of original Nipper MK III twin pipe exhaust system. This system exited the cowling through the aft end unlike the later four vertical downpipe system.

Re: Project news
Hi Neil, You're absolutely right about the original Nipper canopy frame being rather unsatisfactory so please post more details of how you went about manufacturing yours. I have not started to assemble the perspex to the frame so any new ideas are very welcome. Regards, David ps I've just received b...

One of the final tasks of this rebuild, the fitting of the canopy, is now in hand. Following advice from fellow Nipper restorer Ben Faulkner, I used a Black & Decker power file to trim the canopy to shape which proved to be easier than anticipated (photo).

Re: alive and well
Adam, My canopy was a ‘left over’ from an earlier batch and I was very lucky to obtain it after meeting a Swiss Nipper owner at AeroFair, Friedrichshaven. There are some firms manufacturing canopies but if you want a new one you may have to start by finding a mould. The MKII and standard Slingsby MK...

Cowlings are moulded from original MK II patterns slightly modified to suit Ardem engine. Finally new MK II canopy (acquired from Switzerland) is to be fitted to complete...
