Re: Nipper composite fuel tank

Hi Jim Glad you liked the Bee. I had the fuselage recovered a few years ago and that smartened it up: she probably looks the best ever at the moment and I propose to keep it that way. I'm afraid I don't have any drawings of the exhaust or tank. The tank was made by Motorsport Revival in York who use...

Re: The Bee and Me

Hi Paul Good to hear from you. I think we all go through phases with our flying and having two engine problems on and just after take off certainly slowed me down a little. But I'm back and hoping to fly for another 20 years!! There seem to be fewer Nippers flying at the moment which is a shame. I k...

Re: Nipper composite fuel tank

Hi Neil

I gave the old tank to John Brompton, G-XD. I believe he still has it.

Re: LAA Sywell 2014

It was a good Rally this year and I was delighted that my Nipper was invited to be on static display. Because of my Bee colour scheme, lots of folk still think of my Nipper as a "joke" aeroplane and it's not always taken seriously. So I'm pleased as punch that the LAA think otherwise......

The problem was caused by a faulty fuel pump so on both occasions, I landed in fields but stayed upright and walked away. Testimony to wh...

Thinking of arranging a Nipper Fly In at Breighton next year. That way, I know that John Brompton will fly in with XD!!
It would be nice to get us all together somewhere central. Let me know what you think....

Re: Nipper composite fuel tank

I had a new tank fitted last year as part of a complete overhaul of the fuel system. The seal in the old tank had started to perish so we fitted a new aluminium one. Cost about £800 and needed LAA approval.

Good Rally this year with 750 visiting aircraft. My Nipper was on static display and attracted lots of interest too!!
