Re: Great Plains Propeller Hubs
Hi David,
Yes, the Hepu was approx 1200cc, here are photos of said hub.
I have a aliminium spacer between the prop and the hub to assist with exhaust clearance.
I believe the GP hub moves the hub 2 1/2 inches forward from the case.

Great Plains Propeller Hubs
Has anyone used GP's propeller hub with the 3degree crank fitting. The one i'm interested in is the one that fits straight onto the crank (3degree)without the extra bearing. Whats the quality like etc? My present hub is the original Hepu hub which is frightfully thin, need something stronger! Thanks...

Re: Restoration of ZS-UAD, Tipsy Nipper T66 mk 1
Right, today i gave the airframe a light sanding with fine dry emery paper. Moved fuse outside the workshop and sprayed two light coats of etch primer. I decided to do this because i do not like leaving the airframe tubing bear with no protection, even though the new tubes need to be welded in. I wi...

Re: Restoration of ZS-UAD, Tipsy Nipper T66 mk 1
Today there was ACTION !!! I plucked up the courage to cut out the offending bits of tubing in the frame. The tube that you bolt the tail skid to is horrrribly corroded from the inside. Water and dirt has been gathering in this tube as the open end faces up. I will definately seal the new tube after...

Re: Restoration of ZS-UAD, Tipsy Nipper T66 mk 1
Thanks Dave, all the info is greatly appreciated. The photo of the mounts you posted is good enough of me to go on. If you could please give me the wall thickness of the "pyrimids" plates if you have it on hand. I assume the round part of the mounting is solid stock, turned down to the rig...

Re: Restoration of ZS-UAD, Tipsy Nipper T66 mk 1
Hi Dave, Thank you very much from the photos and explaination. My Nipper has the hole with a tube through the top cross member. I'm keen to change to the later mountings, will have to manufacture them myself. One question, would i have to move the top bracing tubes to be in line with the mountings o...

Hi All, Well, i'm still at it, progressing slowly  All the paint on the frame has gone and now i'v started with a rather labour intensive operation. There are a few pieces of tubing around the cockpit area that were repaired using fish plates and i never liked it from day one. I'v just finish...
