Re: Engine removal
Paul, thanks a lot for a most comprehensive reply. Mine is supposedly a Mk 3 but not sure what an"attachment backplate" or a "rod end assembly" is. I definitely have free moving spacers though. The pictures are very useful. Moving the fuel tank is not so easy with mine as there a...

Re: Leburg
Neil, aircraft is based at Beeches farm just off A46 between Newark and Lincoln. I will try to get some photos and post them. It's looking to me like I will need to remove the fuel tank. Do you, or anyone else, know how easy that is likely to be? (We have a load of copper(?) piping connected to tank...

Re: Engine removal
I have a VW engine. The top left engine mount (as viewed from prop end, in the bell housing doesn't appear to have a nut. The mounting point has a thick circular part which looks like a spacer but which is I think actually part of casting. See picture. https://photos.app.goo.gl/PEKqGynuvYhUwDcF7 I b...

Re: BUNGEE APPROVAL
What is the mod number for replacing undercarriage with 1080 shock cord?
(My Nipper has shock cord at moment, but 6 smaller rings rather than two 1080 cords. Awaiting info from LAA on the mod which was 11001.)
Regards, Malcolm

Re: Leburg
Thanks a lot Neil. Can't easily get to the controller unit. Need to take the engine out. But I think this is what we will have to do. Will do the checks you suggest. Good to know that I might be able to get a repair if needed. I'll ring Skycraft to check. Regards, Malcolm

Re: Leburg
One of my Leburg ignition systems has stopped working, i.e. no spark on any of the 4 plugs. When I first had a problem I was getting spark on 2 plugs, then system deteriorated now no sparks at all. I have checked the plugs and leads, replaced the coil, checked the output as it came from ignition swi...

Re: Replacing undercarriage suspension bands
Hi, I need to replace the undercarriage bungee on my Nipper. I have some 1080 shock cord (supplied with plane). From reading these posts, the undercarriage tool looks essential. So can someone lend me one please. I am happy to leave a deposit in order to make sure the tool is returned to you. Thanks...

Re: Air Filter?
It's a VW 1835 Barry Smith ACRO with inverted fuel and oil. 1/ How many hours since last overhaul? 127 2/ Did it stand idle and not run for long periods? Absolutely not. 20 hrs in last 3 months 3/ What was the oil filter internals like when ‘your guy’ broke it open? Not broke it yet 4/ Do you have a...

Air Filter?
My VW engine has seized. The guy fixing it believes the problem was dirt and grit pulled into the engine due to the lack of an air filter. So, would like to know how many of you are running with or without air filter. Also, for people using an air filter, which one are you using? Clearly space is an...

Re: Nipper Wanted
Thanks for reply. I've looked at that one. It's too small. I think I really need the long leg modification.

Re: G-ONCS Sold
Very interested in buying a Nipper with taller pilot mod like the ones you intend to build.
Have you started yet? If so, when do you expect to have one ready for sale?
