Just bought one of these for use in the Nipper as the Microlight boys rave about them, have to say after a quick trip today its a darn site quieter than the PA17-79 ANR set I've been using up until now.
The passive attenuation on the Micro Av set is far superior and the mic seems to pick up a lot less cockpit noise, its also a good bit more robust than the 17-79.
Overall very impressed for the £200 price tag and also solves the problem I had with the 17-79 catching on the top of the canopy asthe Micro Av headband has a much slimmer profile.
Just thought I'd share that in case anyone is thinking of getting a new headset!

Re: Micro Avionics UL-100
Just to put my two-penneth in, I have owned a pair of UL-200's for over a year now and use them in a Shadow which is noisy in the extreme (will be using them in G-AVKI as soon as I can get a 2-pin GA adaptor from Microavionics). The UL-200 is even better than the 100 as they have ANR and Vox on board and the ANR really works too. Well worth the small extra cost IMHO
Microavionics also give excellent after sales service. My main headset developed a slight 'crackle' just out of warranty; lead replaced FOC and in double-quick time too.

Re: Micro Avionics UL-100
Hi Gary, did consider the UL-200 with the ANR but it would also have required fittinng the intercom system which considering the Nipper is single seat seemed a bit of a daft idea!
Still very happy with my UL-100 and have done about 10 hours with it now, far better than my ANR 17-79 unit and also gives me some more headroom to play with which might even allow me the comfort of a memory foam cushion if I can figure out where to get one suitable.

Re: Micro Avionics UL-100
Hi Des, Microavionics are shortly releasing a GA type adaptor which has some electrictrickery to allow everything to work. What do you use BTW?
Re: Micro Avionics UL-100
Hi Gary, mine is already fitted with GA jacks and just plugs directly into my Microair 760 radio.

Re: Micro Avionics UL-100
Hi Des, must admit, I didn't realise that they made them with GA plugs; have ordered my adaptor today, just need some halfway decent weather to go and fly!

They'll fit whatever plugs you want at no extra cost!! The chap to speak to is Eddie, I had some issues with mine to start with as I had distored sounding TX. I sent it back and forth a few times as he tried some different mikes, problem sorted in the end and they were extremely helpful.
