Two Nippers back in Belgium

Postby OO-WBR » Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:46 pm

Good evening all,

It seems to me that there hasn't been much activity on the forum in recent years. That's a shame. After a few years of focusing on other things, I am very happy to tell you that I have been able to bring two Nippers back to Belgium in recent months.

The first was number 59, this Nipper went straight from the factory to Luxembourg and then Germany. After an accident and subsequent restoration, this aircraft was active for the last 30 years with its previous owner in southern Germany. This Nipper currently flies with a Jabiru engine. I still need to adjust the fuselage before I can fly it myself, but I am looking forward to flying around with this aircraft.

The second one was somewhat unexpected. Number 40 went from the factory in Belgium to Italy and has been flying as an ultralight for many years. It had been in storage for more than 10 years, and when the opportunity arose, this Nipper also became my property. Last weekend, we transported it from Italy to Belgium.

During one of the trips (Raymond Cuypers was with us on this trip), the idea arose to update the ‘Tipsy Nipper Story’ book and release a new version. We have been busy over the past few weeks mapping out everything we already have and updating the histories of the various aircraft. We hope to have everything ready by early 2027 and release the new version.

Here is my question to all (former) owners who would like to help us piece together the history of their (former) aircraft. Please contact me by email and we can discuss the details together. willemronge@scarlet.be
