Canopy Trim

The rubber trim on my canopy has started to perish and I’d like to replace it. Any ideas, please?

A good source is likely to be an automotive spares suppler or a yacht chandler. Another option is to use a search engine to find something suitable from a supplier to the house window frame market. Of course other option is a supplier to the aviation industry, but that is usually £££.

Biggest problem is removing and replacing the nuts and bolts (6 BA?) and putting it all back together without cracking the canopy. Don’t try and drill out the new hole in the rubber, instead use a punch tool. Also, try and do the job bit-by-bit.

I have an idea I may have a small length of suitable rubber in my special box... but it may not be enough. If I don’t post I have... I don’t.

I heard from Nipper Kits yesterday who don’t have anything in and suggested I just source some rubber from the Internet. Half of it is still on the canopy frame, the remainder having perished and come off. At least I’ll get some fresh air in now, as I have no air vent! But I want it to be right.
