suspension rubbers

Postby G-ARBG » Thu May 27, 2010 10:25 pm

Robert,

I believe the rubbers sold by NK&C Ltd are modified trailer suspension units. I have made enquiries for the cost of producing new rubbers to the original Neiman rings specification and have found a company who have quoted a price of around £150 per set. Minimum order 10 sets.
The alternative appears to be to modify the spools to accomodate bungee cord but I can find no details of this modification although I believe it is incorporated in one aircraft already.

I'm now urgently needing a set of U/C rubbers for my Nipper as my permit is about to expire and I'm pretty sure the condition of the current ones would be considered 'marginal'.

Have tried Nipper kits a couple of times over the last few days and still not got an answer, I managed to get Alan several months ago to request a set but nothing ever showed up, saying that he didnt take any payment details which I thought was rather trusting!!

Does anyone have any further details of that bungee modification as I see they are readily available? Do we know if its an LAA approved modification or would I have to go through a mountain of paperwork, must say I dont know much about the approvals process ??

Any help greatly appreciated as i'm keen to get a fresh permit soonest (before new baby arrives circa the 21st!)

Regards

Des

Hello All,
Greeting from sunny Athens (working not holiday!)
I would be very keen to take a set (or perhaps two) of the bungees. Perhaps with a bit of effort we can reach the magic ten that Pats source would need. Any takers?
Put me down for two sets Pat, and let us know if you get enough interest to get a run done.
Thanks.

Paul.

I might be interested in this if the offer's still open - how many takers do we have?
