Instrument panel mounting

Postby Peter C » Tue Apr 22, 2014 7:50 pm

I have a original Mk2 instrument panel (the small grey plastic type) which I would like to re-fit to my Nipper during the re-build. The project came without any other parts for mounting the panel. Does anyone have information on how these panels were originally mounted? Old posts suggested using rubber mountings glued to the spar - any more details?

Regards

Peter,
The photos show the original brackets for the small panel. They are attached to the sorbo rubber spacer and spar with fabric cement (not screws).
I still have a mould for the instrument shroud if you need one.

David,

Thanks for the pictures and the information on mounting the panel. Very useful. I have just checked through my box of unidentified Nipper bits and found the two mounting brackets! Helps to have a picture to make sense of things. I have an instrument shroud. Thanks again.
