Hi Paul, I am thinking about the initial oil demand and have noticed the bulb below the sump in the pictures you posted. If i fill the oil tappet line before hand will that assist in the initial oil demand? I am using 1/2 hoses and there is quite a volume between the T-piece and the oil valve?
The carb is on top and i don't think i can fit it below. I am more concerned about the sideway space demand of the Revflow - it runs into the oil line from the fuel induction and the spark coil on the opposite side. But I am thinking things through, and will find a way. I have already modified the cowling for the fuel induction, so i can do that again.
Thanks again for all the advice and input - as a no-mechanical minded person i really appreciate it.
regards

Sven

Hi Sven,

I have no idea if pre filling would help or hinder things. Would the oil simply not get pushed around the engine? I think you need to be very sure that once inverted the engine will get an immediate and continuous supply of oil. If not, it will be damaged.

I do know that my own Nipper with an Acro engine once flew the length of Loch Ness (22 miles) inverted. Not me I should add!

Good luck.

Hi Paul, Neil
I have now done around 4 hours with the new oil set-up and everything appears to be normal - oil pressure good and no leaks. All still only positive G aerobatics.
I have fitted the new harness and an extra lapbelt. After the last flight I have also managed to fit the RevCarb, but as Paul anticipated I had to cut the cowling - extra glass work to be done. The fuel tank is now in the workshop for surgery (flop tube, vents and fuel level indication) - will be another week before I can fit that back into the Tipsy. I posted a short video i took at sunset on Saturday
Many thanks for all the assistance.
Sven

Sven, did you ever get the Revflow carb going? If not what did you use instead?

Dear Malcolm
I got the Revflow carb working without any trouble. With the pump on the pressure is too much, so i don't use the fuel pump at all (other than to prime the carb).
Kind regards

Sven

Sven,
Thanks for prompt response. Great that it work OK. I may try one on my Nipper. Was there a modification required to a Revflow carb? If so what is the number please. Also, if you could give me the registration of your Nipper so I can use that as an example of the thing working successfully.
Thanks a lot.
Regards, Malcolm
