SEV Fuel Pump, service or replace

Hi All,

My Rollason 'Ardem' X engine is fitted with a SEV (Marchal?) 46 DA 40 (46 C?) mechanical Fuel Pump. Has anybody any source for a service kit for this unit? I cannot find one. Maybe it is just a membrane. Alternatively is anybody using an alternative Fuel Pump for which spares are easy to find and which can be substituted for my SEV?

Thanks, Ronald

Word of caution here; I believe some after market pumps have plastic parts substituted for metal bits in the original. I picked this up from one of the engineering forums (fora?), These may be unsuitable, I can't remember why.
I have the same engine so will be looking for a service kit or replacement soon. I'll post if I have any success.

What carburettor do you have?

Thanks Jim!

I have a Zenith type 32 KL-P10 carburetor.

I think you'll find that getting a service kit for that carburettor will be challenging. I've tried many specialists, including the manufacturer, and the usual response I've had was 'haven't seen one of them for years!'. By good fortune I was wandering around the flea market on the last day of the rally and found what looks like an identical one which I now have as a spare, although without a service kit. I also picked up a CD150 which many seem to use as an alternative but that will require quite a lot of inlet pipery fettling as it stands a bit tall to go on top of the engine.

Thanks Jim!

Do you know what/who else used this Zenith carburetor, I want to believe there were more users than just Rollason. Back in the day it was pretty common certain parts were used by different brands, a carburetor was no exception. It might help our search for a service kit if we have a (better) direction.

I’ll let you know if I find any leads.

Kind regards.

The only information I have is that one of the answers to my enquiries was that it was used on a post war Morris van.

I think Renault and Citroen used them as well.
