G-ONCS Sold

Hi All,

Just to let you know that my Nipper is moving to a new home. Chris and Nick have purchased my Nipper from me after many years of restoration and development. I am very sad to loose her, but I hope her new owners will enjoy the fruits of my labours and have as much fun as I have.

I still have G-BALS which is the last unbuilt original Nipper kit in the world to my knowledge, a little project I may get around to when I have less time (I know I will never have more!)

I am considering buying an RV4, but have not committed to anything yet. I will still monitor the forum and offer any help I can.

All the very best wishes,

Neil

Hi Neil, did not know that G-ONCS was for sale?!!! I am sure you will be sad to see her go as I know you spent a lot of time on R&D on her. Probably one of the best in the country and certainly one of the most 'sorted' with respect to reliability of her inverted systems. I hope it is not too long before you embark on the refurbishment of G-BALS, go on, get that Revmaster built!!! I will contact you very soon to arrange a convenient time to pick up the bits for G-CORD. All the best and please return to Nippering soon.

Hi Neil

Blimey!! I thought you were only kidding when you said you might sell. Must be like loosing your right arm Sad but, time to move on I guess. I know the new owners Chris and Mick will have great fun. Keep in touch with the forum....we all need you Nipper knowledge and know how. Maybe see you at Sywell in an RV4. Where will G-ONCS be based?

All the best

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
Yes, i am going to miss it terribly, but I am not flying it enough to justify keeping it. The RV (if I get it) will be a very different horse, more or less fun I will let you know!!
Of course I will still visit the forum and help if I can, and hope to see a small squadron of Nippers at the rally!!
G-ONCS is moving to Top Farm, Netherthorpe.
All the best,
Neil

Update on the RV4......certainly a different "fish", but certainly very enjoyable. I certainly miss flying a Nipper, and to that end am looking forward to building the two I have, to the same spec' as G-ONCS but with some improvements.
Notable improvement will be a modified fuel tank with additional capacity, fitted with flop tube and single outlet, so no need to switch tanks. Other than that they will have the tail/fin; tall pilot; Barry Smith cowlings; inverted fuel and oil; luggage compartment; Bungee; Leburg and various other minor mod's to bring them up to date, including mini ipad EFIS.
I don't have a start date yet, something I will get around to when I have "less time"!

Sad to see so few Nippers at the LAA Rally.

In the mean time:

Very interested in buying a Nipper with taller pilot mod like the ones you intend to build.
Have you started yet? If so, when do you expect to have one ready for sale?

Hi,
I have not started on my Nippers yet, but depending on how long I am furloughed for will affect when I start them.....they will be the same/similar spec' to G-ONCS. I have a 1965 Lotus Elan which is the next restoration project to finish first.
I have a restored 1835cc engine which I may fit in one, and a new 2180cc engine for the other.
Best wishes,
Neil
