David, after your ownership the aircraft changed hands a few times. I had to replace a lot of poor quality woodwork repairs that had been done after your careful ownership of the aircraft.

I think the engine went to a non Nipper owner in Wales for a Taylor Mono? Airframe was sold ‘as-is’ when I got a job in Qatar, and converted to a Jabiru engine by its new owner.

Very interesting posts thanks....I removed similar mounts from G-ARXN (Now G-VICA), but it did not have the case on the back of the engine. Although a very nicely engineered installation it is just too heavy and moves the engine too far forward. 'XN had an extra 10lbs bolted to the tail skid.
All this lovely installation does is move the CofG forward, and the need to add more weight to the tail. Personally I would fit the Leburg style alternator, bolt the engine directly to the airframe as is conventional on the Nipper. You may even find you can remove weight from the tail all together.
Save weight, increase performance.
