Nipper fly-in

Postby Mr.Tipsy » Fri Oct 27, 2006 6:09 pm

Hi Everyone.

I was contacted by Phil Kemp who's organising the Air-Britain fly-in.
This annual fly-in always has a theme (previously Vans, Comanche, Stampe,...).

This year they are considering the Nipper (50th anniversary). Air-Britain would like to mark this milestone by gathering together as many Nippers as possible.

The fly-in will be held at North Weald airfield (EGSX) over the weekend of 16-17 June 2007.
Off course this would be a great opportunity to fly over with your Nipper and to meet fellow-pilots.

Phil asked me to see whether there would be some pilots interested in flying over.
Can those would be interested please let me know?

thanks

willem

Hi,

I've just bought Fred Hamblys Nipper, G-CCFE. Count me in if I'm not somewhere hot and sandy!

Darren.

Darren,
Welcome to that merry band of nipper owners. Let us know some of your background and do you have a way of wiping the silly grin of your face every time you fly a Tisy Nipper.
To every one else out there, do have A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
all the very best, fly safe

Hi Pat,

Thanks! I'll let you know about the grin but I doubt it! I've only had one flight and it was the permit renewal test flight, waiting for a new permit to fly her again (last one expired). I'm spending the time titivating and repairing.

I'm a glider pilot really, I enjoy competing, I instruct and am known to occasionally turn the gliders upside down! By trade, I'm an aircraft engineer in the RN. G-FE is now based at Yeovilton - as am I. The hot and sandy reference is Iraq not a family holiday Crying or Very sad

Cheers,

Darren.

G-NIPR likely to be there!

G-NIPR is progressing well (at last!) and it will be a pleasure to take her from the north of Scotland to North Weald.
I will also book the time off and do my utmost to make it.
Lets get a good crowd together.
Maybe you can persuade Raymond to come over too, Willem?

Paul.

G-TIPS is based in England, so Raymond won't be able to come over in a Nipper.
Perhaps I can persuade him to come over in a Cessna..

Hi Darren,

Welcome to the world of the "Nipper Grin"!

On the subject of gliding and Nippers....I am sure you will in due course, but the Nipper glides about as well as an "oven ready turkey", if you can see your proposed "engine out" landing site over the nose the chances are you won't make it.....it will take some recalibration from flying gliders. Hope you really enjoy your Nipper, look forward to hearing more about it. Hopefully meet up at a "do" in the future.

Neil
