Hi Nigel,
To my knowledge my Nipper is the first, and to date only, to have this mod incorporated.
It was also done by Airweld.
The mod number I have on record is: 14065.
Good luck. The mod works well.

Hi Paul

I’m wondering if you could post some photos of your nose wheel bungee mod and any details of mod 14065. I’ve requested the info from the LAA, but to date they unfortunately don’t seem to be able to locate it.

Kind Regards

Hello guys,
Sorry I missed the previous question about this.
Please contact Paul Grellier at AirWeld, near Winchester.
He has all the info you need, and probably also the drawings.
He will also advise the part number as supplied by LAS.
He is a nice guy and always happy to help.
Good luck.

Does this mod require any structural modification, or is it just a replacement of the Neiman rings with a bungee like the main gear mod?

Hi,
You will need to change the “top hat” on the top of the nose leg which I can supply for £125. You will need to get the 1080 bungee.
I am having trouble getting the modification paperwork from the LAA at the moment, but hopefully will have it soon.

Neil

Thanks Neil!

Does the “top hat” replacement require any welding? Do I need just 1 or 2 1080 bungees for the nose gear?
Is it possibles to do this modification with the wing on the airplane? Right now the wing is off, I guess this makes life easier. The Neiman rings still look good, just want to consider replacing them now the wing is off, or wait it out.

Hope you get the paperwork for this modification soon from the LAA, please keep me posted!

Kind regards,

Grtz. Ronald

Hi Ronald,
Yes, the top hat is made from 4130 and requires welding together.
Only one 1080 bungee required.
I am looking into an alternative to the Neiman rings for the nose gear, just need to do a load test and put a mod' request in! The LAA are abysmally slow in processing mod's.
The nose gear Neiman rings can be done with the wing on or off the fuselage.
Regards
Neil
