Hi All,
Well the "Nipper Swarm" didn't even buzz!! Ben F in his Cub, Pat B and myself arrived in our Nippers to a barren Old Warden, not even anyone on the radio!! So I passed airfield data to Ben who arrived in his lovely Cub and Pat B in his Nipper arriving shortly after me at 1000. We booking in, paid our £12 for landing/entry into the FANTASTIC Old Warden Collection. They don't like it being called a Museum, because each and every aircraft/vehicle is airworthy/roadworthy, or being restored to such. We had a breakfast/drinks/chat and then headed off into the Collection. There are 7 hangers, all packed with truely breathtaking exhibits going back to the first to take to the skies. There was an Edwardian flight display scheduled for the previous evening, but the wind was outside the limits for these fragile a/c. I would whole heartedly recommend a visit to this wonderful collection.
Hope to make another date for later this summer, but work commitments mean I will have no time till late June, unfortunately my roster pattern will also change so am unable to suggest other dates this year.......that is not to say that anyone else can "take up the banner" and run with the idea of a get-together!!
All the best and happy landings.
Neil
